The Georgian NGO “Young Barristers” participated in ISU Employment Forum

“Young Barristers” participated in an Employment Forum, held at Ilia  State University on July 10, 2015. Bachelor and Master students of  all  four Faculties  of the University  (Faculty of Art and Science, Natural Sciences and Engineering, Law school and Business School) had opportunity to directly contact employers  and  introduce their competence, skills and capacities to them. Students were provided by detailed information about vacancies during the Forum. The representatives of organizations gave recommendations to the students about  particular  skills which they should improve  in order to become more demanded in the employment market.  

“Young Barristers” was among those 13 organizations, representing  special presentation on the Forum. Organization introduced its activities and principles of working to the students. The presentation also touched upon the issue of legislative proposal on the  involvement of  internship period  in the total term of the work experience. This proposal, introduced by “Young Barristers”,  has already been discussed in the Parliament of Georgia and relevant  working group carries on working on the issue. 

“Young Barristers” has also provided information about the vacancy, announced by organization. Namely, on June 22, 2015 the organization announced a vacancy of the project manager and is trying to select sufficient candidate through transparent and open competition. Persons with relevant experience can apply to the organization until July 17.  The candidate should  perform  following duties:

  • Project initiation and preparation of project proposals;
  • Project management (project planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation;
  • Project budget design;
  • Effective communication with the project stakeholders, donors and other interested persons for their involvement in the project;
  • Elaborate project implementation strategy, formation of the project team, identification of the risk factors in the project planning and implementation.
  • Prepare project proposals on the topics, offered by executive board of the organization;
  • Effective Communication with Diplomatic corps, different foundations, NGOs and INGOs and partner organizations;

It is essential, that interested candidates had relevant experience of creating  projects in both, Georgian and English languages, as well as experience of work with international and local donors, oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in short terms.   

It was for the first time, that “Young Barristers” participated in the Employment Forum at ISU. In total, 31 different organizations and companies had participated in the Forum.
