Tamar Chergoleishvili continues misleading the society

10 February, 2014

Upon respecting the public opinion, we, non-governmental organization the “Young Barristers” believe that it is important to explain the announcement of the head of magazine “Tabula” – Mrs. Tamar Chergoleishvili, made on February 10th 2014 concerning the affiliation of our organization with the state. This time Mrs. Tamar Chergoleishvili shares a photo of one of the co-founders of the organization Tinatin Nibloshvili, in which the latter stands at a tribune side-by-side with Bidzina Ivanishvili, stating, that: “ I consider the founder of the “Young Barristers” as an activist of Georgian Dream – here she is, standing at the tribune”. (Style is protected)

The “Young Barristers”, for Mrs. Tamar Chergoleishvili’s attention, states the following factual circumstances:

1. Organization the “Young Barristers” was founded on June 9th, 2012 by course mates of law faculty at Tbilisi State University, active persons in human rights protection: Archil Kaikatsishvili, Marika Arevadze and Tinatin Nibloshvili. The founding board administers the organization. The co-founders took responsibilities on different spheres of developing the organization.

2. Co-founders of the organization: Archil Kaikatsishvili, Marika Arevadze and Tinatin Nibloshvili worked in various organizations until June 9th 2012 and were engaged in legal practice.

3. The photo shared on the Facebook page of Mrs. Tamar Chergoleishvili indicating Tinatin Nibloshvili standing side-by-side with Bidzina Ivanishvili was taken on April 21st 2012, at the founding congress of the Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia”. Organization the “Young Barristers” was not yet established on April 21, 2012 and Tinatin Nibloshvili worked at one of the non-governmental organizations.

4. Tinatin Nibloshvili has never been a member of neither party “Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia”, nor its initiative group or the founding board. Tinatin Nibloshvili was invited to the congress on April 21st, 2012 with a guest status of as one of the active youngsters in civil sector. Tinatin Nibloshvili made a speech by the end of the gathering and welcomed the need of making political changes. She never addressed the society with the name of the party. Even her dress code indicated in the photo states that she never had a political obligation of making the speech.

5. Tinatin Nibloshvili has not participated in implementing activities of the “Young Barristers” since March 12, 2013, as she continues to work at the “Center of civil involvement”. Therefore, Tinatin Nibloshvili has never prepared a briefing with the name of the “Young Barristers has never participated in any of public activities or civil campaigns and none of the projects presented to funds, Tinatin Nibloshvili has no responsibilities. Tinatin Nibloshvili does not participate in meetings and decision making processes at the organization .What is more, since March 2013, Tinatin Nibloshvili has not received a salary from the organization, that may be proved by extract of cashless payment.

At last, we, the “Young Barristers” address the society to critically rate the campaign of Mrs. Tamar Chergoleishvili against the “Young Barristers”, which aims to discredit the activities of the “Young Barristers”.  The organization handed out all the information about the co-founder, which takes us to our professional and personal dignity.  We confirm that we indeed sent a letter to Mrs. Tamar Chergoleishvili on February 6th 2014 asking her to publish all the information concerning her obligations to the state. For more visibility, it is a pity there were no more photos of Tinatin Nibloshvili with Bidzina Ivanishvili. Unfortunately, an experienced journalist, Mrs. Tamar Chergoleishvili continues misleading the society.
